TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT – YACHTS/MEGAYACHTS

Role based in the United Arab Emirates
Al Zanabaq is seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical integrity, maintenance, and compliance of yachts/megayachts.
This senior role requires a highly structured professional with proven large-yacht experience, capable of managing complex technical operations while working in close coordination with the Captain, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for the yachts’ technical condition and asset integrity
- Planning and supervision of preventive and corrective maintenance
- Management of refit periods, shipyard stays, and major works
- Budget preparation, cost tracking, and technical reporting
- Liaison with class, flag state, insurers, yards, and technical suppliers
- Oversight of spare parts, service contracts, and technical documentation
- Ensuring compliance with ISM / ISPS / MLC / Class / Flag requirements
- Supporting the Captain and onboard engineering team with technical expertise
- Risk assessment and technical troubleshooting
Requirements
– Class 1/Class 2 Marine Engineer CoC or equivalent
- Proven experience as Technical Superintendent or senior engineering/technical role on large yachts (80m+ / 100m+)
- Strong background in marine engineering or yacht technical operations
- In-depth knowledge of refit management and shipyard coordination
- Excellent budget and cost-control skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Fluent English (additional languages considered an asset)
- Discreet, reliable, and owner-focused mindset
